College Update #9

Ah yes...twas another glorious day in the land of the Gaucho, particularly in my Anthropology class, where I was constantly battling the following urges:

*Gouging out the eyes
*Laughing hysterically
*Punching girls in the face

Here's the rundown:

The class is an hour and a half. The teacher prepares about 30 minutes of lecture. Any other minutes we spend in the class are due to stupid questions from classmates, who don't understand that by shutting up they can just leave class and go march at an environmental rally or whatever it is they do for fun.

That being said...here are some things you would've heard in my class today:

"Taking DNA samples from people who committed crimes isn't fair because then you get labeled as a criminal."

...There is really no need for me to point out the stupidity of this statement.

"Our world is totally overpopulated because America is stupid."

...That was a very nice formal, educated statement, girl in the back (GITB).

"Different social groups are more likely to drink alcohol."

...really? Who would've expected that. Maybe these guys:




I also had a few general thoughts of my own that I never shared:

*Dear Mr. Skeleton in the front of the room, I'm not going to accuse you of staring at me due to your apparent lack of eyeballs. But seriously, dude, chill out. We aren't cool.

*How come we spend an entire week talking about genes and never actually talk about the best kind:



...gene shorts.
